I promised my twitter/facebook friends some news on Friday. I wanted to wait to announce it to some key folks before rolling it out to everyone. But here it is:

I will be taking part in the 2012/13 AIM (About Integral Mission) group through the CBOQ. This program is designed to be a learning/training experience for pastors to help them teach and facilitate missionality in their congregations. It involves several days of seminars and discussions to educate and reflect on doing mission. It also involves an overseas component. So, in February 2013, a group of us CBOQ pastors will head on a two week experience in Lebanon. Yes, I will be in Lebanon. We’ll be visiting the ministries happening based out of the Arab Baptist Theological Seminary. This of course is assuming the security situation is sufficiently stable, especially given the current troubles in neighbouring Syria. But at this time, Lebanon is safe. Hopefully it will stay that way.

I’m really excited about this. I’m excited for the amazing learning and growing that will happen. I’m excited for what this means for Centre Street, and for St. Thomas. So I hope you’ll all join me in praying for all participants, the leadership and our field staff partners in Lebanon.
